Alignment stick connectors are something I’ve wanted for a long time. Recently, I purchased 2 alignment stick connectors from The Elixir Golf. The idea is to use them to hold the alignment sticks in specific positions for full swings and to help provide a chipping gate for my short game.
I’d recommend these, but I’m giving them 3 stars. โ โ โ
They are expensive. $9.80 each. I bought two. I’m guessing they can make a whole bunch for 20 bucks. They aren’t fancy.
Having said that, they are pretty handy. I don’t like alignment sticks that move. Being able to make a chipping gate is also a plus.
They help clip two or more sticks together easily, hold well and give you a square set up.
I wouldn’t put the ball as close as I put it in the photo. It’s meant to demonstrate the objective.
I usually slide the ball alignment rod out past the horizontal rod a couple inches.
The ball positions represent where I would play different clubs.
The ball on the right side or in the middle of my stance is where I play wedges. The next ball represents the position for 9, 8, and 7 irons. Then 6, 5 and 4 iron followed by 5 wood and 3 wood. I play my driver directly in front of my left toe.
(Note: The stance I’ve taken is close to where I would play a normal “full” wedge shot.)
Chipping Station
This is why I bought two of them. It is like a chipping goal post. You could chip over or under the bar.
While I have a turf mat at home, it’s always better to practice on real grass. I set this up adjacent to the practice green in the shade.
I use something similar on the practice tee, but without the crossbar.
