Blast Motion Golf

The best way to improve your putting is to practice with purpose. Measure your putting stats with Blast Motion Golf.

I bought this kit, which is a sensor that fits on the grip end of your putter and connects via Bluetooth with your phone or tablet. ★★★★★

The better choice in my opinion is the Apple IOS version for iPhone or iPad. They have an Android version for phone only. I have both which is which is why is say this. (Here is a link to a page with my review)

I set my phone on a tripod or my iPad in it’s cover as shown below. I have the app set to tell me what the face angle at impact is. It reads the stat back to you verbally. You see the data on the screen real time for each putt.

Data is saved by day, week, month and year. You view your stats numerically or in charts. The Player Report, which I will discuss later, stores for all shots in a sortable database.

Blast Motion Golf Putting Stats

Here are the stats you can measure when putting. You can arrange the stats displayed according to your preference.

SPEED CONTROL – Tempo, Backstroke Time, Forward Stroke Time, Impact Stroke Speed, Backstroke Length, Loft Change, and Total Stroke Time

DIRECTION – Face Angle at Impact, Backstroke Rotation, Forward Stroke Rotation, and Lie Change

Additional Stats

It’s not just for putting. You can measure your short game, bunker and full swing shots as well. Those metrics are:

DISTANCE CONTROL – Swing Speed , Peak Hand Speed, Tempo, Backswing Time, Downswing Time, Attack Angle, and Total Swing Time

Comments

You can video your swing with the app, watch instructional videos and have access to coaches and instructors.

The kit comes with an additional sensor holder that you need to switch from club to club. I don’t like this, but for practice it’s OK. The sensor isn’t that difficult to take off and put back on. There are two sensor holders and one sensor.

Players Report

There is a report generated that you can view on your phone, tablet or PC called the Players Report.

This is the total stats for all shots. Here is an example of my last 109 putts.

(Note: The stats database can be sorted by date, individual stat, club, etc.)
