Divot Tool Review

Divot repair tools or ball mark tools can be simple or fancy. Let’s look at four options at different prices and in various weight ranges.

For years I used a golf tee to fix ball marks on the green. I’ve since bought them now and then at different golf courses. I’ve ended up with a simple plastic one.

Recently, I purchased a couple more expensive ones just to see what the buzz was about.

This one is a plain Jane divot tool. It’s bent to give you some leverage I guess.

Golf Tees Etc.

I bought a bunch of these on Amazon to use in setting up putting stations. I set them 5 feet apart for example over 40 feet. both uphill and downhill.

Conclusion

I have a club cleaning bottle with a brush on it hanging from my golf bag. I also have a groove brush with stiff plastic and wire bristles.

My thoughts were that I’d like to have something in my pocket and in the cart with me.

I keep a large spray bottle and a towel in the cart to clean things.

The two fancy products above weigh about the same as having 8 quarters in your pocket. For me, that’s too much.

I don’t carry much of anything in my pockets and I never have.

I carry two quarters for ball markers, a few tees and a plastic divot tool.

So, I wouldn’t carry the Tember or Callaway in my pocket. They feel like boat anchors.

However, I like them and may keep them in my in-cart bag with the spray bottle.

The one I carry in my pocket is the plastic one because it’s lightweight and works well.

Also, I can buy 20 of them for the price of the fancy ones.

I usually fix several ball marks on every green if I have time.

No matter which one you choose, please keep one of these tools close and fix your ball marks.
