Golf Metrics with Blast Motion

Golf metrics can be measured with many devices. Blast Motion Golf is reasonably priced, versatile, and easy to use. Let’s take a look.

This is the third article in a series on “Feel vs Real.”

I have used Blast Motion Golf for thousands of putts.

Putting

DIRECTION – Face Angle at Impact, Backstroke Rotation, Forward Stroke Rotation, and Lie Change

Short Game and Full Swing

It’s not just for putting. You can measure your short game, bunker and full swing shots also. Those metrics are:

DISTANCE CONTROL – Swing Speed , Peak Hand Speed, Tempo, Backswing Time, Downswing Time, Attack Angle, and Total Swing Time

Air Swings

This feature allows you to practice swings and record data without hitting a golf ball.

AIR SWING METRICS – Swing Speed, Peak Hand Speed, Backswing Time, Downswing Time, Total Swing Time and Swing Tempo.

SUPERSPEED GOLF – There is an option under club settings to select up to 5 SuperSpeed Golf speed training clubs. You can choose one or a set.

Then when you are going to practice speed training, choose the correct SuperSpeed trainer club.

(NOTE: There is a package where both Blast Motion Golf and SuperSpeed Golf are sold together)

Coach Mode

This requires a Blast Connect account.

This is an evaluation tool for players or teams. You can manage multiple players with one sensor.

Conclusion

I’m a little prejudice towards this device. I was a beta tester for this device early on. They have improved the app and device significantly over time.

If you are going to buy just one piece of golf tech to measure your golf metrics, this is it.

Why?

You get a great deal of value and technology at a good price.

Simply attach the sensor to the end of your club with rubber holders that fit over the grip.

When you swing or putt, the data appears in the app.

Use Blast Motion Golf anywhere and anytime.

I have a tendency to use this indoors during the winter. I have used it on the putting green also.

It’s the sort of thing your can use all over your practice area.

The device stores information on the sensor for download the next time you log on the app.
