What is Slopegraide Course Mode?
It’s a breakthrough technology for reading greens.
When I select one of the practice greens at my course, Course Mode let’s me set the pin, set the ball location and then view the putt / break from that position in augmented reality.
This is an example from Spring Creek Golf Center, Whitewater, Wisconsin. The course features tough par 3 holes with bent grass fairways and greens, two practice greens, and a driving range.
Setting the hole location and ball location is done on a “heat map” version of your green.
When you choose “set putt,” the app switches to a “green view” from the heat map.
I select the option to show the hole, the pin flag and alignment line.
The you select “roll ball” to view a simulated putt.
Holding your device in a vertical manner, choose “roll ball” to view the putt.
You may need to adjust your alignment line by moving your phone or tablet slightly left or right.
When you are lined up correctly and you roll the ball in the hole, the path will turn from yellow to green. That indicates a made putt.
I usually select several points by touching the screen and the app displays the break at that point.
The app will display the Backstroke length needed, the amount of vertical slope uphill or downhill, the Stimp reading you have selected and the length of the putt.
You can choose the view a “Putt Stroke Model” as well.

Conclusion
I use the AR Mode for putts under 30 feet and it maps the green accurately. Note: AR mode requires that your device be equipped with “lidar.” Those are high end iPhones or iPads listed above.
I use the smart ball marker on days when I just want the basic read on shorter putts.
Course Mode is awesome for long putts, medium and short putts. I use my iPad to give me a bigger view of the green in this mode.
Would I recommend the Slopegraide ball rolling simulator and Roll Maps? Yes.
