The Rain Drop retractable putting string by Perfect Practice Golf is the best elevated aim line I’ve ever tried. Let’s take a look.
This elevated aim line is retractable like a tape measure.
It’s a wire line approximately 20 feet long.
It has a lock so you don’t have to worry about it retracting after you set it up. Just like a good tape measure.
It comes with two stakes and a nice carrying case.
You stick one stake through a hole in the “rain drop” and you attach the wire to the other stake at the desired distance for the putt.

Why I like this
It’s really well made and handy.
This makes practicing in a straight line or practicing breaking putts using an aim line easy.
I used one of these for green reading practice this weekend. The practice putts were from around 15 feet.
Used together with an alignment mirror and shoulder mirror, it’s one of several drills / games I like to practice.
In this case I would guess the break, make the putt or move the stake closest to the hole to the proper aim point.
The idea is to figure out if you are reading putting correctly or not.
I bought two of these. My intent is to find a hole with 2% break left to right and right to left.
That would be setting two of these up at around a 45 degree angle from the hole on opposite sides.
I like to set up more than one drill or game. This only works if there is room on the practice green.
As you can see in the photo, I only had room for one on this day.

The Rain Drop – Retractable Putting String
Close to 20 feet of retractable cable! The Raindrop will help you work on start line easily and quickly on the putting green. Either straight putts or breaking putts, this retractable string can do it…
Conclusion
I have several types of elevated aim lines.
I’ve made one or more and have the Pelz Elevated Aim Line.
These are more expensive, but they work better, come in a nice case and the retractable wire line is a stable must have.
It’s bit expensive, but ★★★★★ five stars for The Rain Drop. They are around $30 online.
