The tripod mount for my phone and iPad has been upgraded significantly. The Owine tripod mount is width adjustable from 3.74 to 9.05 inches fitting almost any phone or tablet. It comes with a camera wireless remote.
This is really and all-in-one component for self video, vlogging, etc. I highly recommend getting one or two.

Having two of these will replace almost all the other items I’ve purchased to hold my phone and iPad. Plus, you get a wireless remote with each.
I’ve purchase reasonably priced and stable tripods also. They have a level and the device holder flips vertical or horizontal on those.
My point is I’m thinning out the components for camera operation to 2 tripods, 2 tripod phone / iPad mounts and 2 wireless remotes. It all takes up much less room.
The real bonus is that the tripod mount is truly adjustable. It holds your phone or tablet snug, but not overly tight and the devices can be removed easily.
What this is
This is a reasonably priced tripod mount with really good features.
I comes with 3 pieces. The ball mount, the adjustable holder and a wireless remote. The cost is $20.
The ball mount has 1/4-20 (standard) threads on the bottom to hold it onto the tripod and a wingnut type tightener that locks the rotation of the adjustment ball.
The ball mount has a 1/4-20 thread on top to mount the holder.
The camera holder has two 1/4-20 screw threads that are located on the bottom of the holder and back of the holder giving you mounting options.
The holder has two spring loaded arms that have a padded rubber grip for each arm. The arms are adjustable. There are push buttons on the back of the holder that allow you to release secondary spring loaded arms for wider devices like an iPad.
There is also a cold shoe on the top for a light or external microphone.
Conclusion
I now have two $13 dollar tripods and two $20 dollar tripod mounts. With two wireless remotes. If you don’t want or need to spend a ton of money to get a steady and versatile camera set, these are ideal.
I highly recommend the tripod mounts and the tripods. Both are available online. I use these items to film my golf swing or hold my phone or iPad when using golf apps. The items all fit on or in my small roll around bag.
What they are not. If you are a professional, golf instructor or if you are going to travel with these, they are not for you. I did a lot of camera / video work for my job before I retired. You need to pay up if your want stuff that travels well, is truly versatile and lasts a long time.
